Information Vendors All Day Events Visit the Butler County Symphony office on the Diamond during the Butler Fall Festival, September 19, to register for a raffle and learn about the upcoming concert season. The Symphony will raffle off ten Butler County Symphony Orchestra CD sets (2 CD’s per set) and a pair of season tickets to the upcoming Symphony season. More information on the Symphony’s season is available on the website: www.butlersymphony.org. The Butler County Genealogical Society will also have a display about immigration to America at the Symphony office during the festival, as a part of the introduction to the first concert of the Symphony on October 11. The theme of this program is “The Dream of America” and features Peter Boyer’s new composition, “Ellis Island, The Dream of America”. The program will include slides of the historic Ellis Island and seven actors reciting the emotional words of immigrants during their entry into America through the infamous Ellis Island. The Genealogical Society will be selling raffle tickets for their own Chinese Auction. Patrons may purchase tickets (price to be determined) and drop their raffle ticket into one of four prize containers. Prizes are: One year Free Membership to the Butler County Genealogical Society Marion Township, Butler County, History Book, published by the BCGS Oil Reminisces, Butler County Oil History, published by the BCGS "Family Tree Maker" family history tracking software The Society will also have the Marion Township and Oil Reminisces books available for sale that day. Members of the Society will be on hand to answer questions about genealogy and discuss the information displayed on the boards. The Butler Little Theatre, in collaborating with the Symphony’s first concert, will be dressed in costumes and will have information on its season of productions beginning in October.
